Snorkeling at Great Barrief Reef

Finally I did it!!! I have been dreaming about this day for years and years. I have a great love for marine life and I’m sure you all have seen my 4ft mixed reef tank by now. If not click here.

Just after Christmas I headed to Port Douglas on a short holiday to relax at Sea Temple Resort. I was really excited and nervous at the same time. Not knowing what could be under you can be a little scary, but thankfully no trigger fish attacked us. I was more scared of the trigger fish than anything else. Hopefully next time I can go scuba diving.

Pictures below were taken by a normal digital point and shoot camera (Canon S95).

Few sample pics below. But I must say these pictures don’t do the reef any justice. The amount of colourful corals and fish I saw were just extraordinary. I have been to many aquariums and seen many marine fish, but nothing compared to what I saw out on the Great Barrier Reef. Actually at one point I turned the camera off and just relaxed and admired how beautiful the sea really is.

Enjoy the pictures:

Thats me being super excited 🙂 Also be sure to check out the shark pic!!
